General Job Description:
You will work within an existing sales territory during an initial 12-month period of training and development as a licensed Investment Associate.
Following a demonstration of sales capabilities, you will be promoted to operating your own hybrid sales territory. This promotion comes with an increase in responsibilities, base pay, and sales commission.
You will reach out to registered investment advisors and independent broker dealers who fit Longboard’s ideal customer profile. You will lead these financial advisors through our sales process via introductory calls, Zoom meetings, and conversations with external wholesalers and Portfolio Managers.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
You will be responsible for prospecting and developing new relationships with financial advisors at independent broker dealers and registered investment advisors.
Workflow includes substantial amounts of outbound prospecting which includes cold calling, emails, Zoom, Loom, and/or in-person meetings, social media, and networking.
You are not inheriting existing accounts – you are 100% focused on the development of new client relationships and converting those relationships into revenue-producing accounts and increasing overall gross sales.
All Sales activities will be recorded in Salesforce.

Required and Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
You possess a series 65 license or can pass the exam prior to starting employment (Required)

Required and Preferred Prior Years of Experience, Training, Certifications, Education:
2-5 years of financial sales experience (Required)
2-5 years of experience selling small-cap, alternatives, or non-traditional equity products (Preferred)
Experience with systematic, rules-based investment strategies (Preferred)
Experience with Salesforce, Portfolio Visualizer, Morningstar Direct, Excel, PowerPoint (Preferred)
Compensation & Benefits:

Expected Total Compensation
Expected Year 1 Total Compensation Rate: $65,000 - $80,000*
Expected Year 2 Onward Total Compensation Rate: $100,000 - $225,000+*
*Total Compensation range is driven by sales performance success. Low-end of range assumes an average sales performer.
Starting Salary: $50K annual starting salary
Commissions: Initial 12-month variable pay of 15 basis points (based on gross purchases) and moves to 50 basis points post-promotion (based on gross purchases)
