General Job Description

You will work within an existing Sales territory during an initial 6 -12 month period of training and development as a licensed Investment Associate.

Following a demonstration of capabilities with Longboard’s sales process and proven lead generation and sales conversion, you will be promoted to operating your own territory with an increase in responsibilities and sales commission.

You will reach out to financial advisors who resemble Longboard’s ideal customer profile, and move these financial advisors through sales process via introductory calls, Zoom meetings, and conversations with Portfolio Managers and/or external wholesalers on your team.

 
 

Required & Preferred Characteristics, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • You possess a series 65 license or series 6 and 63 licenses

  • You have a passion for the stock market and financial services

  • You have an explicit desire to pursue alternative mutual fund sales

  • You are highly competitive

  • You have a demonstrated track record of leadership

  • You are highly coachable and receptive to feedback

  • You are energetic and truly enjoy speaking with people

  • Outbound Sales experience required (Telemarketing/Fundraising/other Cold Calling experience)

  • You have experience with Salesforce, Portfolio Visualizer, Morningstar Direct, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or other software (Preferred)

 

Job Expectations

  • You will be responsible for prospecting and developing new relationships with financial professionals at broker dealers and registered investment advisors

  • Workflow includes substantial amounts of outbound prospecting which includes cold calling, emails, Zoom and/or in-person meetings, social media, and networking

  • You are not inheriting existing accounts - you are 100% focused on the development of new client relationships and converting those relationships into revenue-producing accounts and increasing overall gross sales

  • You will represent Longboard and yourself with the highest standards of excellence at all times

 

Employee Classification and Compensation

  • Full-time employee

  • You will be eligible for all Longboard benefits, including fully paid employee medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance

  • Compensation is comprised of an annual salary + variable pay

    • $50,000 annual base salary

      • This compensation is a gross amount, and is subject to applicable withholdings required by law or authorized by you.

    • Variable pay of 15 basis points based on net purchases

    • Expected Total Compensation

      • Expected Year 1 Total Compensation Rate: $65,000 - $80,000*

      • Expected Year 2+ Total Compensation Rate: $100,000+*

        • *Total Compensation range is driven by sales performance success. Low-end of range assumes at goal and high-end of range assumes exceeding goal
